Wikia

Templates are used to provide a quick way of linking to a large amount of information. All templates are surrounded by a double pair of curly braces, like this: {{Cleanup}}.

This page will list the major editing templates in use. General-purpose templates are listed on the List of templates page. The full list can be seen on the Category:Templates page.

Page creation Edit

Templates in this section are used when creating new pages page.

Template Description Output
subst:Page Used to substitute a page with a starting template. "Page" can be any of the other templates listed below. (This is a basic function of the wiki system, so an example cannot be provided.)
Episode Provides the basic outline for the creation of an episode page. Refer to the Template:Episode page for details.
Sandbox Adds the Sandbox message. Refer to the Template:Sandbox page for details.
Welcome Adds the standard Welcome message. Added automatically to their User Talk page the first time someone makes an edit. Refer to the Template:Welcome page for details.
WelcomeIP Adds the standard Welcome message for anonymous IP editors. Added automatically to their User Talk page the first time someone makes an edit. Refer to the Template:WelcomeIP page for details.

Page editing Edit

Templates in this section are used to control the appearance of a page.

Template Description Output
ClearAll
(or ClearBoth)
Causes the text that follows it to appear below any objects like tables and images floating on the left and right sides. Duplicate of the clr template.
Perry trapped - SD.jpg
Perry trapped - SD.jpg

If this text is long enough, it should appear underneath both pictures. This long and rambly extra sentence should ensure that it is, but just in case it doesn't here's a few more words.

ClearLeft Causes the text that follows it to appear below any objects like tables and images floating on the left side only. Duplicate of the clrl template.
Perry trapped - SD.jpg
Perry trapped - SD.jpg
If this text is long enough, it should wrap underneath the left picture only. This extra sentence should ensure that it is, but just in case it doesn't here's a few more words.
ClearRight Causes the text that follows it to appear below any objects like tables and images floating on the right side only. Duplicate of the clrr template.
Perry trapped - SD.jpg
Perry trapped - SD.jpg
If this text is long enough, it should wrap underneath the right picture only. This extra sentence should ensure that it is, but just in case it doesn't here's a few more words.
DEFAULTSORT:Lastname, Firstname Used to override the automatic sorting created based the page name. Not displayed except in the page list of a category. An example of its usage is:

{{DEFAULTSORT:Flynn, Phineas}}

HeadingA|text Creates a header box and adds it to the Table of Contents.

Heading A example.

HeadingB|text Same as HeadingA but with a more distinct border.

Heading B example.

HeadingC|text Creates a header box with a lighter background.

Heading C example.

HeadingD|text Creates a header box with Christmas colors.

Heading D example.

The next two templates can affect multiple pages. For example, if NOTOC was placed on a page such as "Rollercoaster", then the the Table of Contents would be suppressed. If someone were to then transclude "Rollercoaster" into another page by way of {{Rollercoaster}}, then the Table of Contents would be suppressed on that page as well.
__NOTOC__ Prevents the Table of Contents from automatically being created. (Example not provided.)
__NOEDITSECTION__ Prevents editing of individual sections on a page. (The whole page will have to be edited.) (Example not provided.)
Tocright Causes the Table of Contents that is automatically created to appear on the right side of the screen. (This template should be used only as needed. The Table of Contents will begin exactly where you place this command on the page, not just at the top, which can cause the text to wrap around it in a manner that is not desired.)

Infoboxes Edit

Infoboxes provide a basic framework and color scheme for information. They appear on the right side of the page and are usually the first item on the page. Any fields that currently do not have any information in them should not be deleted in case information does become available in the future.
