Special Pages are Especially Useful
Ever find yourself stuck on what to do on the wiki? There's a few tools that are integrated into the wiki that can help you find new pages and pages that need help.
- Random page: Located at the bottom of the main menu on the wiki sidebar menu. This will, oddly enough, bring you to a page that it chooses at random on the wiki. This is limited to Main namespace (regular articles), and not Files (images) or any of the Help or Policy pages. You can use this to find pages that you might not know existed before and can look through them to see if there's any errors on the page.
- Orphaned pages: These articles aren't linked to by other articles. They may have links on them, but you can't get to them through links on the wiki. This is a problem because that is how most people get around the wiki. You can help by finding appropriate places to link to the article in question.
- Dead-end pages: These pages have no links on them. They are called dead-end because if you get to them, you can't link to any other pages after arriving at them. Fix them by adding links to other articles.
- Uncategorized pages: These pages aren't in a category. You can help by adding a relevant category to them.
- Oldest pages & Pages with the fewest revisions: These are pages that could need some attention. They either haven't been changed in a long time (oldest) or haven't been changed much since they were created (fewest revisions). You can help them by checking them for accuracy, formatting, etc., or adding anything that might be relevant.
- Pages without images: We have plenty of images on our wiki. Over 4,000 to be specific. Chances are, we have an image that could be useful on these pages. Users are much more likely to read a page with an image (or two) on it than ones that don't have any pictures. Note that song pages with videos do not need to have images since the video is the illustration for the page.
- Wanted pages: These are also known as red-link pages. They are linked to on articles in the wiki, but don't have an article for them. You can help by creating articles that have useful information on them. If you can write two or three sentences about a topic, then please mark that article as a {{Stub}}.
Next time, we'll talk about other tools we've got available to help grow the wiki while we wait for new episodes to arrive.

Block, block, block, blooooock, block, block, block, block
by RRabbit42
Okay, you have to imagine that being sung to the "Brick" theme. Not that blocking people is fun, but it did get your attention, didn't it? No? Oh, well.
Part of the continuing work with getting the Affiliated Wikis programs under way involves making sure that our templates, policies, files and several other things are updated. Each of these wikis in other languages will be using pages and files from this wiki to build their own and to be translated into their own language. Right now, the Dutch wiki is our starting point. The German wiki will probably be next, so get ready, Shego123.
One of the things I found is that while we have a way to mark that a user has been blocked, after the block expires, the page still shows that the person has been blocked. In some cases this is appropriate. But in others it should be removed, and on others it should be still listed in a different way.
I have created two forums to get everyone's help with figuring out how to do this:
- Method of handling expired blocks
- Removing block notices
The first is to handle updating the block notice. We need a way of taking out the prominent block notice provided by the Block and Block reason templates and replace them with a different notice that there was a block, but it isn't active any more. I imagine that some people might see the block notice on their page, think it's still active, and therefore wouldn't even try to make any new edits.
The second forum is for discussing at what point a block notice should be dropped from a user page. A lot of this will be for one-time problems that aren't worth noting any more.
Take a look at both of these. Help shape two of the ways we can make this wiki a little bit friendlier for everyone.

Hands-on with the new toys, part two
by RRabbit42
In the previous issue, I described some of the new toys that are available: Gabble Heads and the action figures. I have the Gabble Heads sitting on a table behind my computer, so as I walk by, I'll give one of them a tap to see what they'll say. Sometimes just that one will play its recording, but occasionally it will trigger the one next to it as well. Hearing Dr. Doofenshmirtz cry out, "Curse you, Perry the Platypus!" makes me smile. No word yet on how long the battery is good for, though.
This time, there's two more sets of toys to be reviewed. The first is a mini skateboard.
This is a little skateboard that you'll move around with your fingers. It's about 4 inches long (10 cm). The board comes with a Perry theme already applied to it, which you can see in the right-hand picture above. I pasted two photos together so that you can see both sides of the skateboard at the same time.
If green isn't your color, there's three stickers that you can use to change the appearance of the board. The wheel assemblies are attached to the board with small Phillips screws. I haven't tried this yet, but it looks possible to remove those wheels, apply one of the stickers onto the bottom of the board and cut out two squares at the mounting points so you could reattached the wheels. You'd have to use something like an Xacto knife or a utility knife, so get help from an adult with this.
The package doubles as a ramp. It's got a little bit of a stair-step effect to it, so I guess you'll have to pretend you're skating over moguls or something.
Overall, it's kind of a neat little toy to have around.
When you're an evil scientist, you're under a lot of pressure. Always having to come up with a new scheme or invention. Always being twarted by your nemesis. It's enough drive you to tears.
I don't know what Dr. Doofenshmirtz does when he gets frustrated, but we have the new "Eye Buggers" that we can use for our stress relief. They are soft rubber toys where the eyes bug out when you squeeze them.
The middle two pictures are the action shots of me squeezing Perry and Phineas. Dr. Doofenshmirtz has a particularly diabolical expression on his face which gets even more pronounced when his eyes pop out. There's a fourth toy of Ferb in this line, but the two stores I went to didn't have that one.
Each toy comes with a lenticular card that has two scenes on the front. The last picture above shows both of those scenes together. The back side of the card has some trivia about the character. Here's a picture of the one for Perry.
You know, that third item sounds really familiar. I wonder where they got that quote?
That's it for this review. There's at least three more toys to come, but as always, if anyone wants to review the toys they bought, just speak up.
